Gibbs Cancer Center at Pelham Fund

Spartanburg Regional Foundation raised $16 million for the expansion which opened Spring 2020

Since 1999, the Upstate has counted on Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute for personalized, comprehensive care. Now, with support from donors to the Spartanburg Regional Foundation, Gibbs Cancer Center has taken a transformative next step in bringing world-class cancer treatment to our region.

In 2015, the Spartanburg Regional Foundation launched the most ambitious campaign in its history – to raise $15 million in support of the expansion of Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute at Pelham. The community responded generously, and the initial fundraising goal was exceeded in just four years.

The new seven-story expansion opened in March 2020. It features state-of-the-art technology and other essential resources for patients and caregivers – from conference areas where multidisciplinary team meetings are held to discuss patient cases, to spaces for physical rehabilitation and community education, to infusion rooms that look out onto the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“This is a game-changing situation here. There’s nothing else like this anywhere in the region,” said Daniel Fried, MD, radiation oncologist.

The Foundation committed $16 million to this exciting new resource for patients. Naming opportunities within the new facility are still available. You can make a contribution by completing the donation form below or calling the Spartanburg Regional Foundation for more information at 864-560-6727
