Funds improvements to expand the Behavioral Health and Women’s Emergency Room. 

Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute, NCCCP: $6,000
Funding for a community outreach program to enhance screening and education events in partnership with minority advisory councils.

Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute, Oncology Support Services: $6,000
Funds educational materials and patient navigation to promote awareness of signs and symptoms of cancer and/or cover cost of screenings.

Julie Valentine Center: $9,701
Funds training for a therapist for victims of sexual assault and/or child abuse.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: $12,658
Provides funding for 12 rose chairs that will facilitate comfortable “Kangaroo Care” in the NICU.

SRMC Office of Community Health Policy & Strategy for SC: $15,000
Campaign to prevent teen pregnancy. Funds evidence-based clinical services in Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties.

Women’s & Children’s Services: $5,000
Funds the purchase of “Stella the Starfish” plush toys for pediatric patients.  

Behavioral Health Task Force: $17,600
Reinstitutes and supports a mental health advocacy/education organization within our community.

BirthMatters: $3,000
Provides funding for manuals, parent resources and materials for the Nurturing Parent Program.

City of Spartanburg Fire Department: $15,200
Assists with the purchase of a new interactive safety house to educate students about fire prevention.

Greer Community Ministries: $10,010
Funding for automatic opening doors with a flat threshold at the facility’s main entrance.

Greer Relief & Resources Agency: $5,000
Funding for the Health Challenged Homelessness Prevention Program for disabled/elderly households.

Hope Remains Youth Ranch: $3,000
Funding for equipment and supplies for a health and training room.

Hub City Farmer’s Market: $8,500
Funds expanded mobile market services and a new prenatal to pre-k nutrition education program.

St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic: $20,000
Assists with patients basic, life-sustaining medications.

Second Chance Community At Hand: $6,759
Provides bedding supplies and shower replacement supplies for the male youth shelter ages 13 to 21 years old.

The Walker Foundation at the SC School for the Deaf and Blind: $4,313
Provides funding for two portable vital monitor diagnostic stations.

This grant will assist with basic life-sustaining medications.

Union County Schools: $5,211
Funding for Healthy Explorers program for kindergarten students and their families.

Westgate Family Therapy Institute: $25,000
Funding for play therapy toys and specialized counseling for pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children.

Regional Physician Group: $20,000 (Second installment of a $60,000 commitment)
Support for Hospitalist Fellow Clinician’s work in research and certification.

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System “The Joe”: $75,285 (Second installment of a $226,034 commitment)
Supports heart-related, community-based education and outreach services.

Sports Medicine: $4,450 (Second installment of a $13,350 commitment)
Supports the purchase of Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing software (ImPact).
